The decision comes after both players were unable to participate in recent games due to injuries, significantly impacting the team’s lineup. Williamson has been ruled out due to ongoing reconditioning from a non-COVID illness, while Ingram is sidelined with a left ankle sprain, marking his 21st consecutive game missed.

Zion Williamson: Has already missed 27 games this season due to various health issues, with this latest absence being the 35th game he has missed overall. He played a limited role earlier this month, contributing 24 points and 14 rebounds against the Utah Jazz.
Brandon Ingram: Continues to recover from a left ankle sprain, which has kept him out of action since mid-November.
