This injury was sustained during Friday night's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers, where Westbrook exited early and did not return. The team's medical staff evaluated him after the game, leading to the determination that he would not be fit to play against the Hornets.

In addition to Westbrook, fellow Nuggets player Peyton Watson will also be sidelined due to a right knee sprain. The absence of both players reshapes the Nuggets' lineup, as Westbrook has played a significant role since becoming a starter for the team.
