Chet Holmgren Scheduled for Reevaluation in 3-5 Weeks Following Pelvic Fracture

Chet Holmgren, the Oklahoma City Thunder's promising rookie, is making significant strides in his recovery process. The team announced that Holmgren will be reevaluated in approximately three to five weeks following a pelvic fracture he sustained on November 10, 2023. Holmgren's injury was a right iliac wing fracture, which occurred during a game against the Golden State Warriors after a collision with forward Andrew Wiggins, and has kept him sidelined since then.

Prior to his injury, Holmgren had an impressive performance record, averaging 18.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, and recording 26 blocks in just nine games. His shot-blocking ability had him trailing only Victor Wembanyama in league-wide statistics. The Thunder's medical team had initially indicated they would provide an update on his status after eight to ten weeks, reinforcing the expectation of his return during the current NBA season.

In the 2023-24 season, Holmgren's contributions were key in helping lead the Thunder to the top seed in the Western Conference, solidifying his role as a valuable asset to the team's defensive strategy. The organization and its fans are anticipating his return as he continues to progress through the return-to-play protocol.
